My work was recently reviewed by Miss Gator of www.gatorbride.com. Enjoy... I certainly did!
You know I love me some handmade artwork. Throughout the wedding process, Mr. Knight and I have tried as much as we can to buy handmade items through local vendors. When buying handmade, not only are you getting an item which is (at times) completely custom but, you are also supporting an Artist (and their art) and usually getting a better deal over factory-made items (which is always a plus!).
This past week, I met with the
very talented handmade artist, Carolyn of
Framed Letter Art. She makes
fully customizable art of words (like married couples’ new last names, childrens’ names, inspirational words, etc) from photographs of letters inspired by architecture and nature that she’s taken from across the United States. *
all images (minus my own!) are from Carolyn’s Blog, Framed Letter Art.
“Love” is the first piece Carolyn ever made, and it was for her Mother, how sweet!
A “Gators” framed letter art?
Love it!!!! Perfect for us Orange and Blue lov-ahs!
Loving this black matte, really makes these photos ‘pop’!
How
cute would this be hanging in a baby’s or child’s room?
As you can see,
Framed Letter Art is not only a great wedding gift to a newly married couple, but also a great baby shower, housewarming, graduation, birthday, or ‘just because you’re awesome‘ gift.Carolyn was kind enough to send Mr. Knight and I a piece of her artwork, customized to our new family last name. Can you guess it from these letters?
How gorgeous is that? So clean and modern!

Isn’t that “S” amazing? Love it!
The craft of the overall piece was impeccable. The frame was well made, and the high-quality, crisp photographs were beautifully matted. This piece would be a beautiful addition to any home or as a gift for the person who has everything.
I had a chance to sit down with the lovely
Carolyn of Framed Letter Art and she was kind enough to answer some questions about her work for my readers!
What inspired you to start your own framed letter art company? My Mom’s 50th birthday was quickly approaching last May and I was tired of wandering aimlessly around the mall for a present I wasn’t sure she would love. Then, one day I was taking photographs around Florida and spotted something that looked like the letter “o” through my lens. I figured if I could find one letter, others were probably out there. When my Mom’s birthday came around, I was able to give her the first frame I made. It spelled “Love” and it was exactly how she felt about her present.
For what occasions have you made these for? Framed Letter Art has been created as a gift for weddings, new babies, birthdays, and graduation presents to name a few. People have also requested frames for housewarming presents, anniversaries, and to spread words of encouragement.
How many letters can you fit in one frame? As of today, I’ve made frames with up to nine letters. However, I believe I would be able to fit up to 11 letters in a frame.
What are the available matte colors, frames, etc? Most of my creations come in a black frame with a white mat, but there could certainly be opportunities to upgrade both the frame and the mat color. Mats come in almost any color you can imagine; although, the black or white mats really make the photographs “pop”.
How long, from placing my order, is my beautifully custom art in my hands? Depending on the shipping location, frames can be expected between 10-12 business days from receiving payment.
